| Now where did I read that Tbred A's are multiplier unlocked??
Hi guys,
I seem to recall that I read somewhere that all, or the lower speed Tbred A cpu's were multiplier unlocked??
Can anybody confirm this?? Or deny it with 100% certainty??
I'll find out tommorrow anyway, but I'd love to know for sure before that.
Thanks for any info

I don't believe they are unlocked - but how low do you mean? Anyhow - below XPs...they are easy to unlock these days. |

I believe it's the Tbred B's. And you need an nForce2 mobo. I'm looking for the article. |

okay, got it ocworkbench
Something you would like to know is that if you use a Tbred processor e.g. 2400+, you can change the multiplier without unlocking the processor. Check out the gallery for more information. |

Ultima | TBred-A XP1700 and XP1800 are unlocked (lower multipliers) as received from the factory. I have tested my XP1800+ TBred-A on an EPoX 8K3A2+ and an EPoX 8K5A2+ mobo (both are KT333 mobos), and have complete use of all mutipliers from 6.0 through 12.5, inclusive.
Re: higher multipliers, setting at 13 in BIOS gave 12.5, setting at 14 gave 5.0, and setting at 15 gave 5.5.

OOOHHHH,
I just picked up a XP1700 at newegg for $51.00.
They have it listed as a Tbred A so i'll have to play with it.
Thought I would put it in my Epox 8KHA+ and see what I can OC it to.
I've heard (key word there being "heard") of people pushing these to 2100 levels on FSB only.
Might have to order another one.

Well,
I received my cpu yesterday, and it was an XP1700+ Tbred A core with a 1.5V Vcore.
Ofcourse I clocked it to 333Mhz fsb from the start on my A7V8X, and needed 1.65V to get stable, lotsa space left.
Here's the link to my 3DMark2001SE bench.
Note that I only clocked up the fsb of the cpu, the memory still runs default at 333Mhz, and I haven't touched the Ti4200 yet. http://service.futuremark.com/compare?2k1=5634332
