I've heard that there is a possibility of subtle inconsistencies in the results yielded by processors from Intel vs those from AMD in certain applications invovling long floating point manipulations which force rounding.
Does anyone know of the realities here, or know of an article tackling this subject? Could two different processors render slightly different images from the same 3d scene yeilding a slight shift in color/brightness, etc? If so, if different processors are used in rendering a project, a visible flicker could result.
