I heard your ram limits how far you can overclock, is this true?
I have PC2100 Kingston Value Ram 2x512
Epox 8RDA+ and 2100XP overclocked to 2.1Ghz
I don't plan on overclocking it much though. |

Try and see .. because there is no standard when it come to OCing.
Usually good quality RAM will stay stable at higher FSB speeds ..
In your case i think you might go over 160MHz with a little voltage (VRAM) increase .. |

Theres a reason why Kingston calls it "Value" Ram

I doubt i'll OC much more, no need but maybe to 176FSB to 2800+ speeds. Heh |

The limiting factor with my 8RDA+ seems to be the northbridge. I begin losing stability at a 180 FSB with a Barton 2800+ and Corsair TwinX PC3200.
I imagine a VDD mod and some cooling would bring my FSB up.
In your case, I imagine some PC2700 or PC3200 would probably yield good results, but to say that your ram would end up being the end-all limit with your system would be impossible until you really tried turning up the juice.

Another question, are you running your RAM sync to your FSB? |

Nope, just the FSB. I don't want to get more ram. I just want to know. I'll most likely stick to 2.1Ghz just want to know. |

I have a Biostar M7VIG Pro with an Atlon 1700 and Crucial PC2100 256M and I am getting 106%. Anything more brings a blue screen. Oddly, I am running a 230 PSU with this setup. There are no additions added (like a video card).
I'm guessing the PSU is the next replacement.
