| What is the best memory for overclocking?
Corsair XMS appears to be the best but is very expensive. I have been considering Crucial pc 2700 but the price of Kingston has dropped so much that it caught my attention. So, basically I have narrowed it down to the Crucial, which I'm leaning toward, or the Kingston.
I'm planning on getting an Epox 8rda and an AMD XP 2100 tbred B for overclocking.
Any thoughts? |

i buy crucial religiously, but kingston is good. personally i've never had experience with kingston, so i'd stick with crucial. how much cheaper is kingston? it might be worth it

yep samsung is pretty good for overclocking but not as good as Crucial or Cosair
another company I have just seen recently become available (to us here in NZ anyway) is Geil, which is priced very nicely and is very good for overclocking and is very stable (acording to reviews) |

Smaller mb sticks (256) overclock more efficiently---have a look at the EL series OCZ that Newegg also carries---I use the PC3500, its about 90$ for 256mb's if you can find it... |

I'm running 1 stick 512MB OCZ VS. 3.2 DDR333. I have clocked it as high as 2x200=400MHz with NO PROBLEMS. So far I love the stick.

My advice is to stay far far away from OCZ stuff.. http://www.resellerratings.com/seller1750.html
Yes some people have good experience with their gear, but do you want to risk being the percentage that got jacked?
Get Corsair, they overclock good.

OCZ has a checkered past---way old news thats been hashed for years---they have recently been known for having some of the easiest obtainable highest performance memory available on a consistant basis---they stand behind it and will gaurantee what they sell to perform accordingly--- |
