Just wish to confirm, Athlon MPs are not locked.

Hi all, I just swapped out my Tyan TIger 2466-4M for the MSI K7 Master L, which allows multiplier/bus/voltage changing.

The multipliers on the MPs could be changed without having to unlock them. Very nice and easy heh heh

Thats all

Settings at 12.5 multiplier and 138 FSB (MP1800+ at 1.73 Ghz)and the CPUs don't go above 50 degrees celcius on full load (rendering complex scene for 2 hours).

They have always been unlocked. This was pointed out by everyone before they came out.
Nice to see someone is taking advantage of it though!

The problem was that before MSI and Gigabyte and friends came out with Motherboards for the duals, only Tyan had the market for dual AMD MP boards, and Tyan boards, as stable as they are, do not allow for any modification to the multiplier or the FSB.

So its real fun =)

Woah! Just checked and that board is like £160, you can get dual s370 boards for around £50 but the chips are £120+, whereas the AMD ones are a bit cheaper. Looks like I'm gonna wait a bit longer for a duallie eh?
