| What ram, to hit 200 fsb????
i have no idea about ram. Does anyone know whether it would be better for me to buy good quality pc 2700 (samsung or crucial) ... or go for cheap 3200. Which one would better my chances of hitting round about 190 - 200 mhz fsb. As u can see im on a budget.
My 8RDA + board is the rev 1.1.

this poses an interesting question... I would say that if you hunt on pricewatch.com for some samsung based 3200 that is not overclocked already, then you should be able to pull it off pretty easily without any snags. The problem with using the 2700 is that you may never be able to make it to 190 because thats pretty far over 10% of its current setting.
My vote is search some 3200 |

If you're overclocking, get some good quality ram such as Corsair or Crucial. PC3200 would be your best bet since it is intended to run at 200Mhz.

(digs into empty pocket) . What if i get some cheap DDR 400, its intended to do 200mhz too? What would happen then? ( im ignorant about ram)
If i could pick up some nanya or something, something that does cl 2.5 @ 200mhz, would that be worth a try???
Corsair has huge troubles with the 8RDA + so i gotta steer clear of it, not that i was gonna buy it anyway, its like your paying for diamonds :P. |

I could be wrong, but I don't think any boards can hit the 200 FSB mark yet... stably anyway. They better soon though, with 400FSB bartons due in may. |

I think there would be something wrong if you bought some PC3200 RAM and it didn't work at that speed. If it is sold as DDR400 (which PC3200 is) then it should manage it.
Goodbytes, I thought most boards with the KT400 chipset could hit 200mhz as that was the intention. I may be wrong though.
