| 1700+ Overclocking Success!!!
Wow!
That's all I have to say about this 1700+ tbred b. I got more out of this thing than I expected. You guys should really get one. My 8k3a+ proved itself worthy lol, I didn't think it could handle this OC at first.
195x12.5 right now. My temp at full load is 40 C. System temp is 33 C. (<-- Is that a normal system temp?)
That means I still got a lot more room to go lol. Im only gonna stop when my cpu reaches around 60 C.
Quick question: Should I raise my FSB to around 205? Im just afraid that if I do, I will get agp tearing and HD corruption. My vid card is already overclocked SLIGHTLY, so I don't know. I do have pc3200 TwinMOS ram, but Im just not sure. What do u guys recommend???: Raise FSB and lower vid card speed? Or keep FSB and raise vid card speed? At 195 FSB, can I still overclock my Ti4200 a lot more?
Let me know what u think. Thanks...

I would leave it alone, you'll probably throw your AGP and PCI busses too far off spec. I have the same board with a 2100+ tbred B, and raised my FSB to 166... I did have to turn down my memory timings down just a tad... (just bearly under turbo, but still more agressive that the "fastest" setting) what are you timings looking like, and did you have to rais your vdimm at all? |

LOL, I've got a DUT3C sitting on a K7S5A, so the highest I've been able to overclock it is 1650mhz! I know it could take more, just need a better mobo that actually supports overclocking. And voltage adjustment. Once I get that, I will wire up my CMOS reset switch and get cracking.

It's all in the stepping. <shakes head> I've got a RIUGA that will run fine at 1750mhz but anything past that...not good. Max temp I got out of it was 51C and it rebooted soon after. lol.
Perhaps when I get some cash I'll go to one of those places that lets you pick the stepping...and get myself a JIUHB. That'd be nice..
