So I've been hearing all week how today (April 22nd) AMD will announce price cuts on their XP's up to 40%. I haven't seen the prices yet, so anyone know any more info about this?

Here what I heard for today..
AMD is planning to cut prices on its Athlon XP processors, ranging from the Athlon XP 2000+ to Athlon XP 3000+, at the same time it introduces its new 64-bit K8-core Opteron processors on April 22, according to local distributors. The greatest price cut is expected to be seen in the Athlon XP 3000+, exceeding 30%.

well pricewatch has not fluctuated but $2 or $3, which it does daily anyway. Does anyone know of some actual documentation that shows the new prices or when it will be on pricewatch?? | |

It already dropped guys. My 2200+ two months ago was $117 retail. Now its $90. Thats it-thats the cut.

It sure has, I just looked and a XP 3000+ is now around $500 Canadian. Down a little from the like $900 it was before. Acually I just found a place selling it for $400 Canadian.
