I think it may have alot to do that most overclockers use Arctic Silver or a simialar product so the manufacturer figures that if the processor was burned up it is due to overclocking as opposed to a faulty chip and this is one way to not have to replace so many chips. That would be my guess...since the pad that came with the processor works for the intended purpose of the processor. |

What if you buy an OEM processor? Will you be able to purchase the AMD factory heat sink? hehe
I guess they are not as worried since the warranty is so much shorter for OEM than RETAIL? |

Probably Ironforge. Chances are that most people don't buy the processor and immediately start over clocking it.
Still, I don't understand why they would be against AS3. My assumption is that products such as this are DESIGNED for the application they are sold for. |
