    Decent mobo each.
    256 Mb SDRAM PC100
    200W PS (K)/250W PS (D)

    K6-III +3D Now! 450 Mhz 100FSB vs. Duron 800 Mhz 100FSB "double-pumped".

Does the K have fighting chance ?

one word sums this up very well, SLAUGHTER. Duron would clean house. aside from having 200Mhz effective FSB, faster memory access, and extra generation under its heels, a more comprehensive instruction set, more pipelines, etc...... the K6-3 will beat it on one thing only, the duration it can run without a heatsink.

Heh, yeah the K6 will live longer without a heatsink.....otherwise the duron really is a K6 enhanced, the duron will match or slaughter in virtually every app.

Oh don't start.....I KNOW it's a little more that just enhanced, that was just said to point out that the Duron has all the advantages K6 does and a lot more.....
