You had better have some really good cooling starting out (32-34 deg. C.) but yes it could go there with fine tuning. | |

1.83GHz = AMD Barton 2500+
2.08GHz = AMD Barton 2800+/AMD TB 2600+

You can do it with air cooling, a Zalman or an Aeroflow, depending on how cool your case is already and the fan noise you want. There is even a heat pipe design using thermoelectric dissapation (rather pricey). I use a really good HSF- the Vantec Aeroflow, but the Zalman and a few others are excellent as well.

Yeah, all you really need is a good heatsink. I recommend getting something by ThermalRight. Their SLK-900 is pretty much the undisputed champion. The problem there is the 900 is extra large, and might not fit on your board. In that case I'd get the SLK-800. One thing you've got to watch though with that line of heatsinks is dust buildup. The have lots of small fins, and tend to catch dust rather easily. I use their AX-7, which is a more traditional style of heatsink, but it still does better than most other brands. It keeps my 1700+ at about 10c above system temp at full load. Oh, and that's with my 1700+ OCed from 1.463 to 2.175. |

My XP1700 stops at 1.63Ghz, but that's probably my ram (PC133 Crucial at 147mhz, ultra timings) Then again, I have a pretty crap mobo in terms of overclocking. K7S5As suck.

Heh. I was planning on buying an Aeroflow and some of that Artic Silver Ceramique.
Anything more exotic and my technical expertise and budget would be strained. |
