I installed a delta black label fan on my stock coolermaster heatsink and i did not notice a temp change. Why? The heatsink fells a lot cooler than before, but it still reads 108-120F. ON my new temp probe it reads between 90-95F. The heatsink fells warm but not hot. I think it fells like the 90-95 more than the 108+

I think that the contact between the cpu and the heatink is not too good. |

I had similar problems once.
I had a good HSF, but when I put a load on the CPU I'd get temps of 55-60 degrees Celsius (too hot!)
I reapplied the arctic silver thermal paste (good stuff! highly recommended) VERY thin!
If you apply too much, it ends up working as an insulator instead of a conductor (aka bad).
May want to try reapplying that, to see if it will help Quote: |

Maybe cause the heat from the processor is not getting TOO the HSF |

That is what i was thinking. I want to get a new heatsink than apply the artic silver 2. I currently have the regular crap that comes on the bottom of the heatsink.
BTW: How do you get that crap off? |

Use anything similiar to a credit card (made of plastic) or pen cap and scrape the stuff off. Then clean up with either alcohol, fingernail polish remover, or contact cleaner. I use contact cleaner, seems to clean faster. |

I've used alcohol and a toothbrush to remove the rubber thermal interface material from a processor before, seemed to work OK of me. Use caution and go slowly. |

I've always just wiped it off with tissue. |
