| Price tag thingy on my chip!
I have 2 OEM chips, and they came with orange tags on them like when you're takin' somethin' back at Wall Mart..
Do I leave it on or pick it off??? |

If it's on the core, take them off. Otherwise you should leave them on incase you need to return them. |

That depend on what chips they are.
Some chips (EPROM/Microcontrollers) contain a sort of program which can be erased by using UV light. They normally have a transparent hole on top of the chip to erase the info. When the chip is programmed the glass hole is covered to avoid long term erasing by the natural UV in daylight.
So in that case: DON'T REMOVE THE STICKERS. Or else the chip won't do his job anymore after 2/3 days |

I had one that they stuck the sticker on the bottom of the CPU opposite the core. Needless to say the sticker burned up..... it's a dark brown and blends into the CPU... |

My OEM XP 1600+ has one on it...looks like an oldl TG&Y price sticker.
It's coming off before I apply power to it. |

As for CP, yeah remove it or it will burn away. Many suppliers put tags on the component for warranty reasons, so they wont give you a hard time when you want to swap the clearly unused CPU. |
