    Overclock :: Help Please !!

    Well, yesterday i did a 13.5 x 145FSB = 1957.5GHz.. at default Vcore

Stable and can run 3DMark2001SE and Prime95 with Torture test for about an hour.. No problem at all..but when i shut down the PC and i restart it.. the bios put me into the Safe Mode..
What is that means? that means i should..

    1) Set the Vcore higher?
    2) Set the multiplier lower?

Edit : I tried to set 12 x 166FSB too..my computer totally cannot be booted and i have to clear CMOS.. Hmmm, what's the real problem.. my Asus Mobo did report something..but cannot listen well..

    Specs :

    AMD Athlon XP 2200+
    Asus A7V8X/LAN/1394/SATA/RAID133 Rev1.04 Bios Revision1011
    Apacer 512MB PC-2700 333MHz DDR RAM
    2 X 30GB Maxtor 7200 ATA133 RAID 0

If you did a lot of crashin it may have fragged windows a bit. Defrag it and see if it helps.

If not ... you can load windows over top of itself. What version are you running?

Defrag it. Then test it to see if it's stable.

Well, i don't think it's my HDD problem as i'm able to run everything even though i set the FSB to 145 x 13.5 ..but the problem is after i shut it down, then i switch it on back.. it will bring me to Bios Safe mode and request me to change the FSB..

Even though i set it to 145FSB..i can run Prime95 and 3DMark2001SE without any problem for about an hour..

Hmmm, strange..probably it's my PSU problem as i'm having unbranded PSU now..

See if there is an option in the bios about HALT on Errors. You want it to HALT on NO errors. Don't forget to Save and exit.

You had me confused when you said safe mode. That's windows.

Well, does it do that at normal setting all the way around? If yes, then its another problem. I don't know, maybe it doesn't like an OC'd PCI and AGP devices upon boot up. Otherwise, like everyone is telling you, defrag, checkdisk, check whether you installed something lately that is corrupting your start up, reinstall windows and things like that.
