Duron 900 L1 & L7 Bridges

Seasons Greetings

I've done extensive reading on the bridge reconnection and I'm ready to try my first attempt at doing it. I have my auto defoger conductive paint and a magnifier glass. I wanted to verify what I'm about to do. All 4 of the L1 bridges are not connected. By connecting these the default should be 1.85 which would allow me to run the cpu to a higher mhz O/C ? 2 of the 5 L7 bridges are not connected. If I connect the remaining 2 then what would the default mhz be? I'm installing this cpu into a ecs sis735 board and I think that the bios auto detects and sets the cpu. Also do I need to clean or prep the cpu before application of the conductive paint? Sorry for all the ? but want to double check so I don't trash the cpu.

Thanks in advance WB

OK I had to go to sysopt to get some info straight. L1 is the locking multiplier. Still need help

I think the L7 is for 1.85, and all connected gets you to 1.85V. But you might not need `1.85 for this. Does your board allow to to manipulate the VCore? Probably not. Well see if you can hit 1 ghz with just the stock voltage, it will run cooler. Since your cpu runs at 1.6 default anyways. I dont know how easy it is to hard mod it to say, 1.7, but 1.85 would make it somewhat hotter.

Send a message via ICQ to Hellmund
L1 bridges are for unlocking locking cpu's.
L3, L4 are for manually setting multiplier combinations if say ur board doesn't support manually setting the multiplier.
L6 holds the frequency ID's, FIDs
L7 controls the core voltage.

Thanks

I connected both the L7 and L1 bridges with no problem (finally got the info correct on what was what) The auto paint works great. tried to carfully put it on with a small sewing needle but it would work for crap so I ended up smearing it on and scraping and erasering? it off. Should be booting the machine up shortly. I'll be interested to see what the default cpu setting is. BTW should I disable ACIPI (in bios) on this system? I will be running 98 se.

Thanks again WB
