| WHERE CAN I BUY THIS HSF? "HELP!"
Fellow Members:
I've used the below named HSF for my last 4 builds, and need one for a XP1900+ system. I am having trouble locating one now...
Taisol (Triple clasp connector)
Name CGK 760
Material Aluminum - CopperBase
Heatpad Yes
Size (HxWxL) 59 x 60 x 80
I've got plenty of fans laying around... so I'll purchase with any fan to get the HS. Any sites you know of?
Thx.

The exact model number is different, but would this one work? Quote:
Rated Voltage: 12V DC
Rated Current: 0.18 Amp
Rated Input: 2.16 Watt
Speed: 4,800 RPM
Max. Air Flow: 21.19 CFM
Fan Life: 70,000 Hours
Connector: 3 Pin
Heatsink Material: AL6063-T5
Dimension: 80x60x58.30mm
Weight: 248 gm
| I did a search of Taisol's website, and found that your heatsink actually has two different part numbers. CGK 760002 is without a thermal pad, CGK 760092 is with a thermal pad. Did a Google search with both part numbers and didn't come up with a single supplier in the states, only one in France.
You might try emailing them at sales@taisol.com to find a domestic supplier.

Kuasimodem:
Thx for all your effort. That was very considerate of you!
Interestingly, I have purchased many of my computer components at K.D. Computers located in Wisconsin... I see that is your State of residence.
Anyway, a salesperson at K.D. told me the supply of the Taisol model of HS I was looking for has dried up and they weren't expecting more at his store till February. So, a bit bummed, I reluctanctly purchased a Thermalright SK6 copper finned HS with a couple different fans. I don't want a screamer, but I want to be certain I'm prepared in case I have heating issues during the build and config of the XP 1900+ on a XP X333-R Iwill board.
The SK6 is highly rated by the AMD OC'ing sites, but single clasp? Don't like that one bit!
I've never dealt with Raid or DDR (never mind PC2700)!
Again, thx for your help.

Don't worry about the spring clip pressure on the SK6, most companies have figured out how to keep the HSF on the CPU without "gorilla springs" to do the job. I just installed a Thermaltake Volcano 6cu+ on a board, and it was amazing how little pressure it took to hook the clip onto the socket lugs. |

| This is the system I put it on.
I still can't believe the temps, but they check thru Vcool, VIA hardware monitor, and MBM5.
Also posted a decent 3Dmark2001 score for a bone stock system with a Radeon AIW card.
Just talked to the guy I built it for, and after running Unreal Tournament for about 2 hours, he ended the game and the CPU was running 102ºF, two minutes later, it was sitting at 78ºF again, its normal idle temp. |
