| MY PC's are HOT!
I currently have 4 machines whirring away in my room. Noise is a bit of an issue, but I am learning to live with them quite happily. Well, almost. The heat is stifling!
1 is an HP E-PC, and so is ok heat wise.
The other 3 are home built athlons (1800, 2200 & 2400). Each has a Geforce 4, nForce2 board, DVD/CD-RW etc etc. They are sat next to each other.
I need a case fan or 2 per box, and also a decent heatsink fan combo...
They are all running coolermaster all copper fans, and 2 plain old case fans (one front, one back).
Any ideas? I live in the UK.
Cheers people! |

what do you call hot ? or are you saying they heat up the room ? if you are talking about the pc's running hot themselfs you might want to put alittle space between them if you can and make sure the wiring is all neat inside . cooling them room couldn't hurt either . lower room temp means lower case temp means lower operating temp .

not much you can do to cool the room and trust me I know the feeling its been 100+ here for a few days and it gets hot in my room with only two comps running can't wait for number three
best thing to do is too get a bigger fan and make sure you get air flow.
as for the computers themselves do as omar suggested seperate them a bit to allow greater airflow around the boxes amd i'm not sure if your saying you need better hs/fans?? but if so you'll need to post your mobo info cpu types ect.
good idea omar not really practical for me but a nice idea on the ac unit. the only time its really bad in here is when i turn off the ac at night or set it so its not coming on as much. going to have to stop running those dc boxes 24/7 if this keeps up. | |

not much you can really do other than cool the room or try ducting . if you are in a place that isn't humid you could try a evaporator coller " swamp cooler " there was a thread here not long ago with a guy that bought one . and he was in florida and said it worked out good for him . and florida is really humid .
RicheemxX i feel ya man rememeber i live where u do lol . my ac is on now and it is 3:30 am .... |

The quickest way to eliminate the heat problem that I've found ... is to throw about 4.5 gal. of water on them. Any more or any less won't do the trick. |

How many monitors are in the room...I'm tempted to say that monitors generate more heat (room heat that is) than towers. But then again I could just be talking out of my ass.
