P4 vs. AMD For Overclocking????

I have been wondering what would overclock better, do you think that if I have an amd 2700+ now, that I should switch to get the highly overpriced 800 mhz fsp with hyper threading, or do you think that the AMD's overclock more?

I'm sure that most would agree with me when I say that AMD's will overclock better...a LOT better. There is no comparison.

With the particular chip that I got...I have about an 800mhz overclock. From 1.4Ghz to 2.2Ghz. If I really pushed it...I could probably get 2.4Ghz...making it an even 1Ghz overclock. To my knowledge...those kind of numbers are unheard of when trying to overclock P4's.

There are many P4's that can OC that far. It's just cheaper to put together a decent AMD rig. Overall the P4's take the top end crown. Just remember to subtract 600-800mhz from that P4's mhz rating to compare to a clocked Athlon.
