Athlon XP 1600+, Alpha PAL 6035 & ECS K7S5A

Can I use an Alpha 6035 with the XP 1600+?
What do you think about this configuration?
ECS K7S5A mobo
Geforce mx400 64mb
30Gb Samsung HDD
LG CDRW 12X8X32X
Pioneer DVD-115
Creative LIVE! MP3+

That should be nice if it fits! .. you will have a nice cooling results with this HS, as the XP new chip will not heat up to the levels of the older Tbird chip ...
Although it is not recommended by AMD, it should keep your CPU cool enough ...

sure you can... the only thing that could stop you is a capacitor close to the socket (don't know how much room the board you have provides)... but the alpha 6035 isn't very large so that should not be a problem....

Motta,

I have my new XP1600+ running 150fsb on ECS k7s5a with just a GW fob-32. Alpha 6035 is better than fob-32. I have both hs/fan. The only type of hs/fan I use are Alpha's and GlobalWin's.

Thank you for the info. Now, I need to find that motherboard here in Brazil. All hardware pieces are hard to find here, and the price always very high.
And ECS here is about 139 US Dolars.
Can you imagine the price of a ABIT, ASUS or EPOX here?
