Temperature readings software
Can someone please tell me the names of some software that gives temperature readings and where to find them? I am running a 2.4 GHz P4 800 MHz on an Abit IS7.

Mother Board Monitor is a good one that alot of people use. The only real down side is that you have to do some reading to set it up for your board. After that though it works flawless.

you might want to check Abit's website, they also have their own software which works good with their motherboards...

Yeah, Abit's software would probably be the best to use, since it is made for the motherboard, you probably would get the most accurate readings with it.

Sorry if this was a bother. I did search the forums, but all I found were programs that cater to a specific brand of motherboards, like the one that comes with Asus, or abbreviations of programs (I had no idea that MBM was "motherboard monitor").

Aida32 is also a good program...gives much more than temps info...you can find the temps under "Motherboard", "Sensor".

Okay, I downloaded AIDA32 and I have a couple of problems. First off, it's reading my motherboard as an IS7-G, but my motherboard is IS7. Second, I went to "Motherboard" and tried looking for "Sensor" but it isn't there.

Just a note, I have 3 Abit boards and Abit's software won't even load on any of them...I get some stupid error.
I used to think the manufacturer's software is best to, but that's not always the case. I trust MBM5 over AsusProbe for my A7N8X Deluxe because Asus likes to give numbers that just make it look better

OK its either in the dropdown list under motherboard or its in the dropdown list under computer....depending on the motherboard it may be in either...if not there then keep clicking on options until you find it ...its in there.

To see the temperatures in AIDA32, open up "Computer". Then click on "Sensor".

Well... I'm not sure. For CPU, according to AIDA32, it's 48 C; according to Sandra, it's 51 C. They both showed the same temperature for my motherboard, though, which was 38 C.
Edit: Ooh, I forgot to mention, I found SiSoft Sandra on www.guru3d.com so I used that.
