Gosh, that is cool....maybe sit that computer outside and overclock it a bit.... It is warm and sunny here in Texas......Air Conditioning is running to cool off the house...
I have a question while we are talking about cpu temp....is there a program or do I need special hardware to monitor the temp of a cpu.... I have not attempted to oc anything since way back in the 486 days and that was a 486dx 50 that I oced to 100 and burnt it to a crisp.....after three hours of it running a burn in program.... |

As a rule of thumb anything past a pentium mobo will have a temperature sensor... most pii motherboards do, ditto for celerys, anything later almost definitely.
apart from custom vendor machines (compaq, hp, dell) that is
Often the bios will display the current temp/s somewhere in the settings screen |

Yes, the mobos I have monitor the temp, but you have to be in the bios to read it....which is kind of silly if you ask me.. I have also seen some add on led plates that go on a computer that will monitor inside temp and cpu temp. |

man, whith that ambient temp, i'd have the quietest computer in town. no intake/exhaust fans and fanless heatsink.
i'd certainly save about $120 on my overclocking ventures. |

Well i finaly closed the windows,it was starting to get really really cold in here.
r0l0e>> i tried running it without any fans and it worked great
i even turned the CPU fan off but then i could hear the harddrives so iguess itīs impossible to get it silent
But maybe i should get a peltier ?
i managed to to load windows @1,37ghz
iīve never been above 1.27 before. |
