    get this...

when i was putting my computer in its new case recently i dusted all the parts including my volcano 7+ fan. today i found out that i put the fan in backwards and had it blowing out instead of blowing down on the core

really stupid...the funny thing is my processor temps were staying around the same they had previously been

There was thread a while back about fans blowing air in or sucking the air out.

    Suck or blow

i think when i switch the fan around it will drop the temp a good because even though the temps were similar sucking and blowing i had moved it from a case with 1 fan to a case that has 6 fans so i should have seen a drop in temp, hopefully now i will

Edit: flipped the fan around and now i'm seeing temps around 6-7C lower

depending on how you have your case fans arranged, having the cpu fan suck might improve temps
