| Athlon MP vs XP? Difference???
which is better? The MP seems more expensive. One runs on a 333fsb, and the other on a duel 266? Which is newer and better for gaming? |

Stick with the XP - it's available in higher frequencies with a higher FSB.
The MP specialty is that it's a processor for running dual processor comptuers. The trouble is Quake3 is the only game I know of that will run using two processors.
You'll get higher performance at a lower price with the Athlon XPs.

So the MP is the newer design? That was my impression. But is Athlon still sticking with the xp in the future? i want to be able to replace the 2.5 i buy with a better chip later. But maybe you are better to wait till next year to upgrade and just go with the newer dual processor systems?

Not sure about the performance increase, but it's supposedly the new great thing. |
