| Will the CPU stay overclocked once removed?
My friend has an OC'ed CPU and has decided to sell it. However, he wants to know if it will stay OC'ed once he removes it and sells it to someone else? Bringing about the question: if a CPU is overclocked (say botht he mulitplier and the bus), will it stay overclocked even if inserted into a different system. Even on one that the bios doesn't allow you to change around the multiplier, will the multiplier in the CPU stay changed?
All answers greatly appreciated! |

Overclocking is done on the motherboard - the CPU only takes the settings it's told to take.

Wait a minute guys. We don't know what cpu we're talking about. Suppose the cpu had the multipliers and voltage altered on the chip? That would be a different story.
