| From T-Bird 1.4 to XP1900+
I've ordred an XP1900+ to replace a 1.4 to another system.
Is this XP going to be locked?? Has anybody gotten an unlocked XP?
If it is locked, anybody know of any procedures to unlock it??
Thanks for replies/links!

Wow. That's not much of an upgrade. From 1.4Ghz to 1.6Ghz. Hope you got that at a great price.
I haven't heard of any XPs being unlocked. That link to Tom's is probably the best place to get informed about unlocking the XP. There's also some dork here with a video showing how it's done. |

None are unlocked, however if you want to make it easier to unlock (no filling in channels) oder an Athlon MP. then it's just conductive paint from there, MP's have no grooves, XP's do (and it's not that easy to overcome. |

Oz,
While that is true, a MP 1900+ is about $100 more than a XP 1900+ (OUCH!)

Didn't say anything about the cost, besides it will be 150$ cheaper then if you mess one up =]
I tried unlocking one, my hand isn't steady enough for it, besides filling those grooves is a pain. |

Quite true. And if he gets a MP, then later he can get the MB to go with it and another MP CPU to really heat up his computer room!
