Simple, I had one when it was first released and the BE6 made it very easy---almost all the 600's will run at or close to 900 by simply raising the fsb in the bios---I added a large hs/fan and high quality mem and peaked it out at 150 fsb from new---I dont remember if I had to raise the voltage or not but it does raise the bus speed of the rest of your components so they have to be of high quality---go about raising it in small increments and possibly add vcore to it if needed, monitor your temps every step...
BE6 or BE6-2?

To get at the BIOS settings for overclocking that puppy, hit DEL at the post screen and go to the Softmenu III area. Everything is in there.

Other than that, what TKOP said. I still have a couple of BE6-2's running at present, one of which got a 700 up to 1050 (150 MHz FSB) simply by running good-quality PC-133 RAM. The vidcard was, and still is, a Hercules GeForce 2MX that didn't mind running a 100 Mhz AGP bus speed at all. The alternatice is a PCI vidcard and using the 4:1 divider in the BIOS.

The caveat with those is the capacitors near the processor, they have a tendency to give up the ghost, popping their tops or splitting. A recap with good caps by a good repair guy isn't too hateful cost-wise, and it's cost-effective to have the repair done and keep on truckin'.

TKOP has good info as far as the nice HSF that you'll need on it to do some real good OC'ing. But, it's only gonna OC if you have a Coppermine core and NOT a Katami.

A Katami cored CPU won't OC for nuthin'.

I've got a PIII600E running easy at 800MHz. I've got a TennMaxx P3 STF Cooler on it as well. I like that fact that it shows up as a PIII 800EB in the BIOS instead of a PIII 600E.

Use something like CPU-Z to see what your core is.

G/L if you've got the Coppermine!

Download CPU-Z that I linked to above. Once you've got it, just run the .exe and it will tell you what you have.

Unlucky.

STARMICRO INC. has a PIII600E for $54 +s/h if you really wanna do it. You'd basically be buying an 800MHz (or maybe more) for about $60. A PIII800E runs twice that!

EDIT - I told you incorrectly which TennMaxx I have, I have the P3 TF , not the P3 STF. I believe the only differene is the fans. Mine has two 3-pin molex connectors where the P3 STF only has one. They might be a little higher CFM fans on the P3 STF as well. I'd still get the P3 TF if it were me.
