Athlon 2500 vs 2400

I've got a board that has 266 fsb. I found a great deal on a 2500 for $70, and I'm just wondering, wouldn't it actually run slower on my mobo? Would I be better off getting a 2400? If I put the 2500 on the board (which is a pcchips m825lmu, btw) it will run at the 266 fsb setting, and at 1.8 ghz, will actually be slower than the 2400, which runs at 2Ghz, right?

I don't think you can even use the 2500 on a board that supports a 266 FSB.

Correct me if I'm wrong someone, but if you want to use the 2500, you're gonna have to get a new motherboard.

If it runs at 266 fsb, it won't run at 1.8GHz, it will run at 1.45GHz, your board needs to support 333fsb to run it at the correct 1.8GHz.

It will run, but not at the right speed. It won't be recognized correctly either.

Will probaby run on the mobo, but it would be a wase because the FSB will be wrong so you would need to turn the multiplier up to get the 1800 Mhz speed.
