| FIC AZ11 handle Duron 1ghz?
Hey all. I currently have a FIC AZ11 motherboard with a Duron 650 running on it. I want to upgrade to a newer cpu, but I'm too cheap to buy a whole new motherboard and cpu. My manual says that it supports Durons up to 800mhz. I'm not going to buy a new cpu that is only 150 mhz faster and call that an upgrade. So I got to talkin to a friend, and we came to a conclusion that it probably says 600-800mhz Durons because it is an older board (not old, but older as far as technology goes these days) and when I got it the Duron 1ghz hadn't been made yet. So I know for a fact I got my board before the 1ghz Durons were made, but when the manual says 600-800, is that because 800mhz was the fastest out at the time, or because it can literally only handle a Duron up to 800mhz? Or could I use a Duron 1ghz chip on my board?
Any advice would be helpful. Thanks.
