PLEASE - Newegg Barton 2500 Steppings?

If you have recently (late August through today) bought an XP2500+ Barton from Newegg, would you please post your CPU's stepping, and what kind of OC you have achieved (speed and vcore setting).

[edit] Also, did you buy "retail" or "OE"? [/edit]

Thanks,
jmichna

Not done w/system yet but hears the stepping

AQXEA0330

hope it helps, from what I've read in MANY other forums is that this chip would easily be turned into a 3200+ with the right mobo (read:an nForce 2 board)

Juan,
Thanks. Did you buy as the OE chip, or the boxed (retail) set?

I wonder if there are different steppings between retail and OE at Newegg....

Dave,
Thanks... I am familiar with that database and have used it before.

What I am looking for is info regarding just which stepping(s) of the Barton 2500 that Newegg.com was shipping the last couple weeks, and if the steppings were different between OE and retail.

I got it retail, and I just got my Antec PerformanceII and Aeroflow !!!! Popped it in cleaned it up (It looks almost as good as a Voodoo system I'll post a pick soon) well I had a copy of Knoppix laying around and ran it in the system (Knoppix is a version of Linux that runs ecsclusivly on CD....I don't have my Seagate 120GB yet) I also stuck in my current PC2100 ram and tested the system. Booted fine, I reset it and went into BIOS and changed the FSB to 200 MHZ and it ran Knoppix just fine. After about an hour of use in Linux I tested the tempreture and it was 36C which I heard is pretty cool (literally) I didn't touch the Voltage I LOVE THIS BARTON!!!!!!! Cant wait for the HDD+pc3200 ram to come in. Only issue I have is that the boot screen doesnt recognize it as a 3200+ which it is now, it reports it as an Athlon XP 2200 MHZ, Im gonna guess that it's the fault that I was running pc2100 ram, and I hope that when I get pc3200 it will be recognized as a 3200+. BTW I'm running it an Abit NF7-S which I heard is great for OC'ing. I BOUGHT A RETAIL ONE!!!!

Seems like the bios is setting the FSB by SPD (serial Presence Detect), meaning it is underclocking the Barton to run in sync with the PC 2100 (100 mhz FSB)

When you get the 3200, it will probably underclock the ram to run in sync with the Barton (166 Mhz) stock. @1.83 Mhz

Stock is 166 x 11, using PC 2700, or DDR 333 (166x2)

Change the FSB to 200, and the processor and PC 3200 will run in sync. Processor @ 2.2GHZ

Thanks. Have you tried any overclocking yet?

Yeah, you're right:
OE = Original Equipment
OEM = Original Equipment Manufacturer
vs 'Retail' ("Aftermarket")
(In my line of work, OE and OEM are used interchangeably... my bad)
