| Help! wrong processor reading!
I recently bought (supposedly) a 1.4Ghz processor AMD Athlon from http://partspc.com . after putting it in my computer, it says that it is only a 1.05Ghz. Is there some setting wrong somewhere like in the bios or something? or did they just cheat me out of my money. if they did then im gonna be really pissed. im using a brand new msi k7t266 pro raid mobo.
please help me!!
Thanks!

Don't panic yet. Download SANDRA from download.com. SANDRA will tell you what your Front Side Bus (FSB) and multiplier are set to. Then we can go from there. I speculate becase the mulitplier for a 1.4 GHz T-bird is 10.5 using a 133 MHz FSB, your B is set to 100 MHz FSB, giving 1.05 GHz.

Cracked,
From page 2-4 of your MB manual Quote:
CPU Clock Frequency Selection through BIOS
To set the clock frequency of the CPU installed on the motherboard,
refer to Hardware Monitor Setup of BIOS on page 3-27.
The default hardware configuration for CPU Clock Frequency is set at
100MHz. Therefore, to use a 133MHz CPU and have it run at 133MHz, you
need to adjust the CPU clock up to 133MHz by changing the CPU clock in the
BIOS Setup utility. | Go to Hardware Monitor Setup in your BIOS and set the CPU FSB Clock to 133 MHz and all will be good. For additional information, look at page 3-27 of your MB manual. Let me know if I can help further.

In your BIOS under "Hardware Monitor Setup" is a setting called "CPU FSB CLK". Make sure that it's set to 133 and not 100. |
