just started to find out what overclocking was. have over clocked 13% making an AMD 850 duron run at 935 what I need to know is how hot is too hot?

60 degrees Celsius is too hot when running the processor at 100% load. Download Motherboard Monitor 5 and that will tell you your temps while in Windows. The one in the BIOS is useless since the cpu temp there is at idle. Then use an app that will run your system at 100% and watch the temps.

If you have an MSI board they have a program that reads directly from the Bios. Unfortuanetly, I don't remember the name...

have a epox 8kha+ has the warning and a shut off have the shut off at 60c had the warning at 53c got a couple of warnings depended on the app. bumped it up to 56 and havent had it again just dont want to burn up my 850
