Ahhhh de pain de pain
This is killing me I am trying to over clock my second system and am just not having any luck. I have read about 40 or 50 articles all over the internet on the subject but still no advance. Had no problems with my mainstay she OC'ed just fine. Here the facts
Amd Duron 750
Ecs K7VTA3 mb
2x128 ddr pc2100
Award bios flashed with newest release
1.5 GB HDD
Leadtek Geforce II 32mb
mid tower 250W
What am i doing wrong tried the L1 pencil no difference. Bios old or new has no adjustable settings. The only CPU setting is on the mobo and it selects between 100mhz and 133mhz and I cant get her to boot @ 133mhz. Some one please help before this sys goes the way of the window.

Your mobo doesn't have a multiplier or voltage jumper? If not, then you have got an overclocker unfriendly motherboard....
Look out the window before you toss it to make sure that it doesn't hit anyone!

sorry ryogenetic, that's just how it is on those boards. it's a plug-n-play board ya see. far as i know, no bios update will change the memory timing.

All she has is a bios voltage jumper 5v or 3.3 that would really suck to know I was hoping to make this system an over achiever.

For me it was a cheap fast build - given that I was happy to get going in the end -
the next one will be researched before hand though

Actually I dropped a pretty penny on that board but that is the state of thing over here all the technology I read about is months if not years from becoming available over here at a good price.

Oh you can drop a pretty penny on those sense the 900mhz band is used by officials(police and emergency crews) also depends on what you want for features. Great now I cant even flash the bios. I am so close to sending this machine on a one way trip to the ground level with the primary motivation being my foot!!!!!!!

U can still overclock that cpu, but not by reconnecting L1 bridges, u can set the multiplier via the L3 and L4 bridges I think it is. Tom's hardware had an article with the full-chart of multiplier bridge combo's....

connecting the L1 bridge on the Duron/Athon4 unlocks the multiplier the other bridges changes the voltages. you shouldn't have to touch the other bridges on your case.

Heh, the L7 is for voltage setting. The L1 merely allows the motherboard to adjust the multiplier, reset your BIOS and it will default back to teh original multiplier, that's because the multiplier is set via the other bridges. Without L1 connected the cpu works at that multiplier regardless of what the motherboard is set to.
Here is the Article I was referring to

I prefer not to be stopped in the street just because someone decided my clothes were "wrong" or my hair was "too long". I do understand and partly agree with your point, but this was too much, IMO.
Do you think this was a legitimate...
