Intel P4 Price Drop?
I thought I read a while back that Intel was dropping the prices of their P4 CPU's sometime near the end of October but I googled and couldn't find anything.
Can someon confirm this and does anyone know the actual date?

you can get a 3Ghz P4 533 FSB for $239.99 now and a 2.8GHz P4 533 FSB for $169.99. Looks like the 533FSB line is dropping but they haven't done much with the 800FSB CPU's yet.

I'm really not sure why the 2.4 went up, especially since the 2.6 800fsb is now 175 on Newegg.Originally posted by zen

Yea, my intel board went up in price, yet the 2.6c i bought went down by 50$ (all in 3 weeks)
seems that bartons and p4's are dropping fast - maybe new chip is coming around the corner?
