| Looking for a HSF for Overclocking
I'm gonna overclock my 2500+ to 3200+ and planning to get a new HSF.
I'm currently looking at the Thermalright SK-7, Thermalright SLK-900A, and Thermaltake Volcano 12 Extreme.
Planning to use either a Thermaltake Smart Fan II or Vantec Tornado for the Thermalright HS.
Which should I get? Anyone suggest a different HSF? |

the stock 2500+ will supposedly probably do just fine, but i doubt it...
Vantec Aeroflow

Thermalright SLK 900, Vantec Tornado.
The SLK 900 is supose to be the best HS around for the Athlon XP series. |

You can always try the Swiftek line of fans., also if you are going with the Swiftek MCX462-V.
Either way if you go with either of those two, you should invest in a 92 mm fan. One of my favorites is the Enermax speed adjustable fan. At max speed it offers you a fair ammount of CFM, and at lowest setting you have good cooling with a nice low 28 dB noise.
I don't think that the stock fan that comes with the 2500+ is capable to cool the CPU when you OC it to 3200+ specs.

I have heard good reviews about the SLK-900A. This is at the top of my list right now.
Anyone disagree that the SLK-900A is the best HS for Athlon XP? |

The thing with the Swiftech MXC-462V is that it requires the 4 holes on the mobo which I dont have.
The stock is enough...my bro is using it for now and is at about 50C.
Also does anyone know the difference in noise between the vantec tornado 80mm and 92mm...my bro has the 80mm so I'm trying to guestimate the loudness of the 92mm. |

I would imagine the 92 MM being less noisy, well not so much less noisy but a lower noise cause of larger fan blades. |

Okay I have decided on getting the SLK-900A.
Does anyone know where I can get this cheaper than $35.00 including shipping? This is the lowest price I found. |

Sidewinder.com has the slk-900a on sale and has been sending out $10 off codes in emails for the slk-900a making it less than $20. Also the ax-7 is on sale @ svcompucycle.com for less than $14 , it's also a great cooler .
Good Luck . |
