i have a pentium 4 1.8ghz, 512ddr 2100 ram, fx 5900 video card and when i play games i dont get very good frame rates, i get about the same thing as i did with my geforce 2 pro. Do you guys think that it could be my processor being to slow for the game, or i have no idea about temperatures but in my graphics card setup thing i have a temperature monitor in it and it usually says gpu cor temperature stays around 47c and ambient temp is 37c. Am i running it to hot. any help would be appreciated.
thanks |

I'm going to venture a guess and say it might have more to do with the programs you're running in the background. But, what games are you playing, and what OS are you running? I honestly doubt that any game could bottleneck a 1.8GHz P4, at least not for a little while yet. But if you're attempting to run a host of background processes while at the same time trying to play a game, you're only going to be bringing down your frame rates..

i had this problem right when i got my graphic card so i reinstalled windows. I have xp and i make sure theres nothing that doesn't need to be running in the background running. i play raven shield mostly and i get in in the low 20s fps in areas. my geforce 2 pro did the same thing. i thought i would be getting solid 60fps. My friend plays the game also and he runs xp hes got a p4 2.8 512 ram and a radeon 9200se, and his frame rates never go below 40 |

What kind of computer is it? Or if it's custom, what kind of motherboard do you have? |

The VPR Matrix is the only store bought PC I like.
Definetly a Intel Motherboard.
