I have an AMD athlon xp 1700+
Abit nf7-s motherboard
333 mhz corsair ddr-512
Stock speed for 1700+ is 1.460
Currently- 1.560
ram- 336 on (5/6) fsb/ram ratio
fsb- 140 something
Now i know speed comes from high fsb but how fast do you think i can get it all with my thermaltake volcano 7?
If i were to oc my 9800 all-in-wonder, what speed should i set my agp if its currently at 68?
When the 2500+ goes down and i pay off my mobo+ vid card
Ill buy that^^^ |

Let your CPU temperature and stability be your guide...
If your XP1700+ is a T-Bred, getting to 2000mHz is not uncommon. I've got an 1800+ T-Bred on a KT333 mobo (EPoX 8K5A2+) that I have run at 200 x 10.0 multiplier, and in very cold weather even pushed it to 2100mHz, albeit at 1.90 vcore. This T-Bred default vcore is 1.50, and I'm running it at 1.80, with a ThermalRight AX-7 HS/80mm Sunon 50 cfm fan). CPU temps rarely exceed 44°C; mobo/case temps rarely exceed 28-29°C. This is at 100% CPU output, running SETI@home commandline client)
If you are not running a T-Bred, then I don't know what to say, except that my very first line still holds true.

That volcano 7 isn't a heatsink I'd do much overclocking with. Get at least something like the ThermalRight AX-7 or better.
I have my 1700+ TBred B running at 2.175, and it will do 2.3 completely stable, but my cooling wasn't good enough to keep it there during the summer.
For overclocking your Radeon, don't mess with the AGP speed. Instead, download a tweak program like Rage3DTweak.
You might want to replace the stock heatsink/fan on your card with something a little better too. That'll void your warranty, but your warranty's void anyway if they find out you OCed it. |

i tried rage 3d tweak and i thought it was the cause of a situation in which my 9800 would get all glitchy so i got rid of it. :-/ |
