GeForce 3 hates ocing??

I dont know which forum this belongs in, its a toss up between, Processors and Overclocking, or Video Cards. So since this prob comes from overclocking this is where i put it. Anyway, when i had my old Geforce TNT 2, my fsb would hit 148, now its at 135, anything over 140 something and my machine hangs, permantly. So whats the deal here? Am i just screwed, or is there something i can do??

Your saying that now that you have a GF3 you can't oc very far? Was the TNT2 PCI? In that case it might be that the AGP slot can't take the increased speed.

What is happing that makes you think the OC is unsucsessful? It could be the GF3 and say your sound card are usuing the same IRQ, and so when anything is out of the ordenary you get screen probs, and the sound is messed up. You might check to see if the GF3 is sharing any IRQ's.

Also what are your specs? Mainly what CPU and mobo are you using?

The Geforce TNT 2 was agp, and yes my G3 does share irqs with my onboard sound, onboard raid controller, and my nic card. I have a thread about this somewhere. I have a Iwill KK266Plus-R mobo, amd xp 1600. BTW, im not having any problems with irq conflicts. When i oc and then boot up, after about 2min, it just freezes, no mouse movment, no 3 finger salute or anything has an effect. I just have to reset. But, if i lower the speed, it takes a little longer to freeze. If i set really close to standard speed, its perfectly happy. And as for sound quality, the sound is perfect in games, music, etc.
