compaq 5bw120 cpu upgrade
I have a problem trying to install my new processor. I currently have a 600mhz in the computer now. I brought a 1.1g processor and installed it. I turned on the computer and it does nothing. It won't even boot up. I installed the old one back in and it works fine. I was wondering if I have to change something in the bios or on the board itself. I don't have alot of money or I would just go buy a new computer. I'm trying to get by with what I have. Does anybody have any ideal what might be wrong?I currently have a cpu that says the following on it 600/128/66/1.5 the new cpu says the following 1100/256/100/1.5 they both are socket 370 and both are intel celeron. According to compaq the highest cpu I can put on the board is 1133mhz. That's about all I really know about this. The motherboard is the factory one that came with it.

the processor is probably incompatible with the motherboard. you need to provide more information on the hardware so people can figure this out.
