Heatsink Help

Ok. I am going to get an Athlon XP 2500+ for my first OCing experience..... does anyone have any opinion on what heatsink/fan to use if i am going to OC? I have a Thermaltake Volcano 7+ with copper heatsink, and i tihnk it is good but i am not sure.

Opinions would help

Thanks

-Rob-
btw.... is 103 degrees too hot for a CPU?

I would suggest the Thermalright SLK900u or 947u ($31.95) (947 does not have as much problem with components crowding the cpu socket) and a good 92mm fan like a Sanyo ($10). It is a bit expensive but less than it used to be ($43 for 947u), plus the 92mm fan is quiet. I am currently using a 947u and a Sanyo 92mm fan on my barton 2600+. I raised the fsb to 200 and lowered the multiplier to 11 to get 2200mhz which is equivilant to a 3200+ and my temps stay in the 30C-40C (86-104F) range. I'm not sure what the max temps are for each processor but 103F is pretty good i think.

I agree with Starfury_2260.... SLK900 or SLK947 (either the "A" model -- uses a three lug clip -- or the "U" -- which uses four bolts). ThermalRight is right at the top of all air-cooling heat sinks.

See here for some comparative information for many HS's, using standardized tests:

no need for all that . it is a great cpu hs but it cost way to much . try a vantec areo flow . it is very quite and you can get one shipped for under 25$ . they work very well . i use one in my oc'd 2500 and in the summer , i live in place where 100f isn't abnormal in the summer , it never went over 44c under full load . if your just buying a xp2500 now you might not ever get it to oc to 3200+ speeds . the new cpus are multiplier locked . so instead of over doing it on a hsf combo , remember 50c is not really that hot for an amd cpu , get a good one that will work well .
