    Best free antivirus for vista

I am looking to replace Microsoft Security essentials on a vista laptop (Lenovo Ideapad Y550) Malwarebytes and Superantispyware are installed.

Any advice or opinions are appreciated.

Who needs antivirus software...lol. I haven't ran anything other than Microsoft Security essentials on my main box for years, but have Kaspersky on my 'house' pc. Never had any issues with it...TBH with Malwarebytes and Superantispyware installed I wouldn't bother adding anything else unless you are prone to issues...and if you are then you might want to stay off the pr0n sites LOL

I installed Avast since Microsoft Security Essentials went to End of Life on Vista.

Actually, upgrading to Win 10 would pretty much obviate the need for additional antivirus (though I use Avast myself).

I agree. My Mom and my Girlfriend both have Vista Rigs and they work well (with me and my friends at Techimo for tech support )

My rig is stuck on Win7 since there are no win10 drivers for my video cards ( ATI Radeon HD 4770) and I refuse to buy new cards just to get win10

Still though, in terms of security you're better off running a more recent OS, if you're able to upgrade!
