Computers busy doing something....

My good old mouse hourglass comes on now mysteriously intertmittently.

Defragging, Panda, Avg, Norton, Adaware, Spybot (havent had an update forever ), netstat are unremarkable. I keep an eye on any open ports and cannot tie the hourglass to any service. I cleared my firewall permissions and started fresh and dont seem to have anything suspect trying to access the web but the hourglass persists. I even benched my system and it is the same.
I'am at a loss and this post would have probably deserved to be placed in Tech Support more deservingly but my Spidey senses something devious. Thanks.
