| Sasser Worm Author Arrested
Also posted in Community but since I can't post news I figured I will be forgivven for the "double" post. Quote: |
German police confirmed that the 18-year-old teen arrested has confessed to being the author of the Sasser worm. Microsoft stated that its reward program was the incentive for an informant to turn in the perpetrator. The company said that it would reward the informants who provided information vital to this Sasser worm arrest with $250,000, pending the successful conviction of this case.

I'd like to see an example made of this kid, but that'll never happen in a German court. He'll get six months probation and a slap on the wrist.

let's not make any hasty conclusions...the US court system doesn't exactly have the best track record either. |

This kid is obviously a genius. I think he just needs a turn in the right direction. Hopefully he will get a job offer from a good company and maybe use his skills for good. Haven't you seen "Catch me if you Can?"

Good that he is caught.
Good if he gets more than 10 years.
There is very little chance to getting him from the dark side. |
