Do you mean the password to access the system BIOS setup? If you mean for the OS, please list your OS. |

system setup? Before entering OS or during the black screen? If its black screen (or the system BIOS setup), it can still be helped.
What I once do is, I open the CPU chasing and dig out the CMOS battery. Leave it out for about 3-5 minutes, and then put it back where it were and start your computer. It won't ask you password again. If it does, take out your CMOS battery again for another few minutes (maybe around 10 mins).
To disable your password, double enter in your BIOS setup where you press the Delete button during the POST or test memory screen.

For bio's password pull the password jumper.
For whindows 9x delete the user file under C:/WINDOWS
Ie Del C:/WINDOWS/Bob.pwl
For 2k and Xp boot up with a 9x boot disk and delete the SAM file.

if it's still there then you didn't reformat the computer. |

Hurmm? It's hard for me to picture your situation.
I think, try not to put any password at the User Account --> Admin. Password. Just press ENTER and ENTER to confirm that you don't want any password at all. If im not mistaken, there are 3/4 blank bar to fill in. The first one asks you to type down your old password, enter new password, re-enter new password and password hint.
I'm in the lab right now, using Win 98. So, I can't really check my Win XP at home at the moment. |
