Could be a hardware problem.
Welcome to TechIMO
Are desktop and Laptop connected to same router?
This should probrably be in Networking and Internet
forum.

Hmm I have a wireless so I understand losing connection on occasion (quite frustrating)
I avoid IE like the plague so I don't know what its like when it hangs, but its possible you might be able to pick up a signal booster so hopefully lose connection less often.
It maybe that IE is coded poorly (Say it ain't so!) so doesn't handle well when connection is lost from the wireless NIC. I solely use Opera, and it hangs downloading but the application is still responsive.
What kind of wireless access point are you using?
I doubt if its a virus or spyware it sounds like a lower level issue like how the application manages a lost connection. |

...another pc which is my home pc also having the same problem what my laptop facing but my pc worse! when it's stuck,it's going to stuck for the entire whole life!...
| This pc acting same as wireleless so I don't make the IE software as connection unless downloaded corrupt sp or something...
I'm still thinking the nic setup probably a problem in this, whether drivers or incompatability issue (I don't know). What kind of wireless system do you have, and is same in the pc/laptop @home - as well as laptop used for school?
Or
ipconfig /renew (W2K or XP)
ipconfig /renew_all (W98/ME)
Just read this thread
and see if it helps your problem.
It has to do with ... Quote:
If you booted your computer BEFORE the router was
powered on (or the cable or wireless link was unavailable), the
computer would not get an IP address from the router via DHCP.
Eventually, some program will come along, MS DHCP client will wake up
and demand an IP address from the router
