| Prevent Internet Explorer Hijacking!
Hey guys!
Lately I've been seeing (and hearing about at work) a lot of complaints about IE settings being changed by spyware. I found this nifty little program in PC World's latest issue...seems like it's worth a closer look. Browser Hijack Blaster Quote: |
This program watches several components of Internet Explorer to make sure no one hijacks your browser or tries to slip spyware into it. If an invader does attempt to change your IE's home page, default Page, or Search Page, Browser Hijack Blaster will let you know. The program also keeps a database of known values common to spyware programs; when possible, it gives details and specialized instructions for shaking loose the leeches.

Happy Browsing!

No prob GZ...I figure a lot of people don't like IE because of the many exploits...I think hijacking is a major issue. Hope this helps... |

I was kind of wondering that too. Does it have to be on for it to work?
Or is it running discreetly in the background? Do you have to use it in the system tray too?
Because its annoying if you have to have its window open for it to work.
Also, it says its database is from 2002, but I cant seem to find the updater to update its database.

Prevent Internet Explorer Hijacking...by not using it!
I only use internet explorer for things at work that need IE and I know I won't get hijacked by going to those sites, everything else -- firefox |

I also recommend taking a look at Spyware Blaster. I have been using this neat little utility for a long time now, and it works great. http://www.javacoolsoftware.com/spywareblaster.html
Spyware Blaster blocks the installation of malicious applications through ActiveX and restricts access from hundreds of known spyware and tracking sites for Internet Explorer. It also blocks tracking cookies in both Internet Explorer and Mozilla/FireFox.
