| "Your Current Security Settings Do Not Allow This File To Be Downloaded"
For awhile now, I've been getting this error message when I try to download things. It hasn't been a huge problem, I just stayed away from those sites. However, it has become a hassle. I tried to download the new version of iTunes when I got my iPod, and it gave the same error message. The only other time I can think of it occurring is when I tried to play MSN Games. I've googled the phrase as well as searched the message boards here, and couldn't find a solution other than lowering the privacy settings. However, all of my settings are default, and nothing is set to High. Any advice? Thanks! |

Has this site been added to your Internet Options>Security>Restricted Sites for some reason? Quote: |

This is not meant to attack you in any manner, but do you know how annoying it is to constantly see this entered as a fix for someones question? IMO, if you don't have an answer that doesn't include "Download FIREFOX" then don't.

IMO its a better browser. Why try to fix what MS isn't in a big hurry to fix themselves ?
One thing to note though if you enjoy playing those MSN games they may not play on Firefox
because microsoft owns MSN (insert conspiracy theory and antitrust rants here)
As such your enjoyment is the most important thing not what I use or don't use-Just my 2 cents-but as you said settings are at default-nothing is set to high...restricted sites is the most logical place to look next if that doesn't bear any fruit then take a look at your antivirus/firewalls/webcontent filtering apps that may be in place-are you going through a proxy that may have some sort of content filter applied like ISA server or something... |

I even added it to "Trusted Sites" and it still doesn't work. I'd rather stick with I.E. than download any new programs. I do manually update it, anyways. |
