My computer is warning me that it is seriously infected with spam. It also indicates that I have T. Horse. This has prevented me from having access to the Internet, as well as loading any anti-spy / virus what so ever. It cuts the software off before it can finish loading.
What do I do? |

Try booting up into safe mode and see if you're able to run or install any antivirus programs from there. Make sure to update the antivirus first though.

How does it warn you that you are seriously infected with spam?
Is it through an anti-virus? Which anti virus/spyware software are you trying to load?

Welcome to TechIMO!
Sorry that you had to come because of the prob, but well all try to help you out!
I would reccomend a reformat/reinstall of windows, that way you would be rid of everything, but you would have to backup all the data you need to keep, and adjust all the settings after the reformat, so it is the way you like it again. |

First, could you please post a screenshot of that message?
From what you describe it sounds like a fake pop up, that is designed to fool you into downloading a "cleaner" which actually infects you with more spyware.
I recommend you read this thread: http://www.techimo.com/forum/t112123.html
I recommend you download Spybot Search and Destroy and Ad Aware. Since you are saying that it won't let you isntall these programs.
Download them and save them to your desktop.
Reboot your computer
Before the windows logo shows up, press and hold the F8 key.
From the menu choose "Safe Mode"
When you get into Safe Mode install the programs.
Run them from there.
Reboot into normal mode, run the programs and check for updates (from inside of the programs).
Rescan until you are completely clean.
I also recommend that you download and scan using AVG Free which is a free anti-virus tool. |

You also may want to download, install, and run HijackThis and post your log here for us to take a look at. The Cleaner will scan your system for trojans and is free to try for 30 days.
Remember to update the definitions first. Bill in SD, CA

Clean out all the cookies, and clear the cache, that might fix a few things. |
