Panda antivirus???

Okay, what is the deal with Panda antivirus. I purchased a modem and one of the programs it came with was Panda. I figured since my PC-Cillin license expired and kept changing my webpage to let me know that it had expired, I would try the free Panda program on the cd.

However, ever since then this damned Panda keeps alerting me evry 5 to 10 minutes that it has changed (Panda, that is). Then another box will eventually come up wanting a restart. Well this continues even after several restarts. I have registered, updated, scanned, etc.... it is getting very annoying

Any feedback on this problem? Or Panda antivirus in general?

I, too would like more info on Panda, as my NIS is about to run out and Panda is sending me their IS suite for free. I would like to use something different if it is decent. I am already using AVG on my other box.

lol@bleh Norton

Bleh Norton!

Sorry I can't help you with Panda, but if you're looking for a great free antivirus program, check out Avast Home Edition.
http://www.avast.com/eng/avast_4_home.html

100% free registration

I use it on my home PC's and believe it or not, it has found MANY viruses on my clients' computers that Norton missed.

Here is a good read:

Seems Panda comes out 3rd after Trend Micro and Network Associates.

Panda isn't that hot. I seriously didn't like it. I rate them AntiVir first, AVG second and Avast third though AntiVir doesn't auto-update and the newer version of AVG or Avast may, if your into that kinda thing.

I have used Panda Anti-Virus. I personally liked the program.
I used to have Norton Internet securities installed, huge system resource hog. Uninstalled that, installed Panda, boot time was quicker, general tasks did not seem to take so long. I have actually found that Panda found a few infected files that Norton did not. Overall, I am happy with Panda.

I've tried panda before and wasn't to impressed (didn't like the interface, lots of pointless messages from the program) I've been using AVG for the last 2 years and had no problems

That's the problem I'm having with it
I am going to remove it and try AVG, if that doesn't suit me I'll install the Avast.

Thanks for the input everyone
