| New Spyware Product Versions!
Hi guys!
As most of us already know, spyware is a HUGE problem...in fact, it's the #1 problem with my computer clients.
I was just reading up in my computer mags and I came across this article that definitely sheds some light on the Spyware stopping world. http://www.pcworld.com/reviews/artic...d,48466,00.asp
Seems that CounterSpy 1.5 is the latest & greatest product, check out the chart: http://www.pcworld.com/reviews/artic...72,pg,4,00.asp Quote: |

While both Spy Sweeper and ZeroSpyware put in a good showing, CounterSpy continues to impress me the most. Its new engine and improved technology offered up the best removal rates in my tests. Add to that its unobtrusive alerts and its $20 price and CounterSpy is a clear winner. | I haven't tried any of these yet (although I did like Spy Sweeper 3.1), but I'll give them a go as soon as I have a machine to test them on. All of mine are clean...or are they? Hmmm...maybe I'll give CounterSpy a try. Quote:
NOTE, do not run CounterSpy on Terminal Servers or Citrix Servers, this will cause (a known) problem with the IP-stack.
Running CounterSpy and Microsoft AntiSpyware on the same machine can cause problems. This will be fixed in CounterSpy Version 1.5.
| Anyway, hopefully somebody gets something out of this...

We all know how subjective these comparisons "can" be. Whats good for one computer may not be good for another computer, there are too many variables. Thanks for the link, will check CounterSpy and see how it does on my computer.

Agreed...that's why I quoted the author when I mentioned the results. It never hurts to have more potential weapons in our antispyware aresenal. |

I have Counter Spy at work but I haven't bothered to use it. Seemed kinda clunky.

A co-worker has counterspy on her pc. After a few days it just freezes up for no apparent reason. After checking the website for solutions it states that after long periods of time this could happen and to REBOOT the sytem. I think that's kind of unnecessary, but I'm don't use it luckily. |
