New virus out?

When i open ie, i get this message:

"It appears that your computer may be infected with a new computer virus which is currently spreading through email. This program may be affecting your ability to access the Internet.

If you have an anti-virus program installed on your computer, you may need to perform an update to download the latest virus definitions. For instructions on how to update your virus definitions, please refer to the instructions provided by your anti-virus program. Once the anti-virus program is updated, perform a full scan and remove the virus to resolve the problem.

To request a program that will remove this specific virus software from your computer, please send an email to announcement@support.netzero.com with "Virus Removal Utility" as the subject line. "

anybody else getting this? if so, what utility can i use to get rid of it. i'm currently using AVG free and its not finding anything.

Is netzero your isp? What does their site say about it? Will an email to that address get you an antivirus, or is it a spoof which will get you a virus in disguise, or just a ploy to get netzero customer support a mailflood?

could be spyware as well. Those wont be detected by anti-virus.

Get the trial of "spysweeper", update the definitions and do a scan with that if u cant find any viruses.

yes, netzero is my isp. sent email to 'em. i run a full system scan at least twice a week with avg free, microsoft anti-spyware, adaware and spybot s&d. dont get a lot crap on my system. maybe the occassional trojan, nothing real serious, no viruses. don't know. maybe there is a virus that avg's not picking up i'll see if i get a reply from the email i sent. i know my internet activity's been kinda crappy and ie's been all screwed up.

They are possibly seeing a lot of traffic coming from your IP and are concerned you may be a spam or dos zombie?
